Roger V. Jean

Roger V. Jean is Professor of Mathematics at the University of Quebec in Rimouski. He is also an Associate Research Member at the Research Institute in Plant Biology, University of Montreal and of the Montreal Botanical Garden. He holds postgraduate degrees in Mathematics from the Universities of Montreal and Paris VI, and a Doctorat d'État in Biomathematics from the University of Paris VI.

Dr. Jean is a member of many international scientific organizations, and of editorial boards of scientific journals based in India, Hungary, and Germany. He is also the Executive Editor of the Journal of Biological Systems, and Series Editor of the World Scientific Series in Mathematical Biology and Medecine. Dr. Jean has authored monographs which were published by Masson et Cie, Paris (1983) ; Wiley-Interscience (1984 ; this was translated into Chinese an published in Beijing in 1990); and Cambridge University Press (1994) among others. He has also edited and co-authored many books, besides contributing numerous articles to leading international periodicals in biomathematics.

In 1992, he was awarded the Herman Weyl Prize by the Academy of Creative Endeavours (Akademia Tvortchestva) based in Moscow, and in 1993 the Nicolas Rashevsky Award by the Latin American Society of Biomathematics based in Buenos Aires. He is listed in Men of Achievement, Personalities of America, and Who's Who in Sciences and Technology.
